1953 Jaguar XK120 DHC. The seat leather is actually quite good. I decided to treat the original leather with hide food in lieu of replacement. These cars are only original once.

1953 Jaguar XK120 DHC. The wood fascia is quite good. A good clean up and polish will work nicely. The carpet is soiled beyond presentable use and will be replaced. The aftermarket wooden gearlever knob will be tossed and an original knob with the right amount of matching patina fitted. The paper on the trans tunnel are registrations dating back to at least 1964.

1953 Jaguar XK120 DHC. The initial desire was to attempt a startup after the 35 year sleep, but I decided against it, preferring a full engine out service as a precaution. It was a good thing, as the cooling system as well as the intake manifold was choked shut. The engine will be disassembled and checked thoroughly, and the head machined for no lead, fitted with new valves and guides. The carburetors will be fully rebuilt along with all engine ancillaries. A complete service of the braking, cooling, and fuel systems will follow. Amazingly, the car is absolutely rust free.

1954 Jaguar XK120SE OTS. Original photos of the car when brought to Seattle new, late 1953. For you Seattle folk, note Montlake drawbridge in the background in the largest photo, and all the expensive undeveloped land between the car and the bridge. Upper photos of the original factory red car in LA when picked up at Hornburg Jaguar new. Note the Dunlop tire stickers, and the rear bumper mounting brackets painted body color from the factory. Lower photos of the car are in North Seattle in the fall of 2003. Exactly 50 years after the original photos. The elderly gentleman is the original owner of the car, who I tracked down after a good deal of detective work, painfully trying to duplicate the 1953 photo when he proudly posed with his new purchase at Montlake.

1974 Jaguar E Type V12 Roadster. Chassis UE1S23616BW. Silver/Black. 34,000 mile three owner unrestored car. Sold new in Phoenix, AZ. to a female first owner. She sold the car in early 1981 to a Jaguar collector who, according to his ex-wife, bought five V12 E Types. One for each of his four children and one for his mistress. This car, destined for a daughter, was not driven by her as she lived and worked in the UK.(and still does). Stored from 1981 to 2008, I purchased the car from her out of a friends storage facility here in Seattle. Recently sorted for the road. Auto, AC, tools, records, manuals, and factory hardtop.
